On April 7, Party Secretary Zhou Binvisited Sheyang County to inspect spring agricultural production. He stressed the need to thoroughly study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important expositions on work concerning agriculture, rural areas, and farmers, earnestly follow the relevant deployments of the central and provincial Party committees, seize the farming season to ensure solid spring plowing and management, vigorously advance science and technology to strengthen agriculture, and develop new quality productive forces in agriculture in line with local conditions to consolidate the foundation for accelerating the construction of a high-level agricultural powerhouse.
During the inspection, Zhou Bin emphasized that food security is a “top priority of the nation”. All local authorities and relevant departments must raise their political standing, firmly shoulder the political responsibility of ensuring food security, steadily advance the construction of high-standard farmland, strengthen the supply of agricultural materials, technical guidance, and disaster prevention and mitigation, and ensure stable and orderly grain production. It is necessary to accelerate the deep integration of technology and agriculture, coordinate the development of technological agriculture, green agriculture, quality agriculture, and brand agriculture, improve mechanisms that link and benefit farmers, build beautiful and harmonious villages suitable for living and working, and strive to ensure a good start and solid progress in “agriculture, rural areas, and farmers” work during the 15th Five-Year Plan period.
